Dr. Joey Cazares: A Recognized Leader in Dentistry

At the heart of our practice is Dr. Jose (Joey) Cazares, DDS, FAGD. Dr. Cazares’s dedication to his craft and his patients was formally recognized in 2018 when he was honored as the Texas Dentist of the Year by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. This prestigious award is given to a dentist who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice, community service, and contributions to organized dentistry.

Dr. Cazares earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and has since committed himself to lifelong learning, achieving Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD)—a distinction held by only about 6% of general dentists in the U.S. This requires over 500 hours of continuing education and passing a rigorous exam. His expertise is a cornerstone of the local dental community in McAllen.
